I miss Beppu (別府)

Watching a TV program few days ago,  introduced about Beppu, which makes me miss Beppu more!
.
Beppu is famous for their hot spring, there are many hot springs in Beppu, you could easily see steam coming out from here and there in the Beppu.
I miss the sand bath! The experience was great.
The body was being buried up to the neck in the thermally heated sand. Feeling something heavy putting on top of my body at first and then could feel the heat slowly creeped into the core of the body.
One of best thing is that this sand bath is facing the sea, close your eyes, relaxed and listen to the sound of sea.
The fee is 1000 yen, provided with yukata,
the sand bath took about 15 minutes, then you can take a bath in the public bath.
Beside from onsen tamago ( The hot spring boiled egg ), Tori ten (Chicken Tempura)is another famous food in Beppu. They usually come with set, Tori ten with rice, pickle and miso soup.
The Tori ten is good. The coating is crispy, the meat is juicy and soft inside.

I had my Tori ten set here in Yanagi ya, a family restaurant, recommended by a travelling book.

Sakura season in Japan

As I said in previous post, it has been a cool week for me, I'd been backpacking around Kyushu for week. This is probably going to be my last spring in Japan, so I came up with sudden trip to Beppu, Kumamoto, Nagasaki , Sasebo and Iwakuni. Not a well-planned trip, totally an impromptus. Just bought a set of tickets and a travel book, that's the beginning of the journey.

Iwakuni, Kintaikyou (錦帯橋)

Love you sakura !
